When is Carve a Pumpkin Day? This holiday is always observed on October 31
Carve a Pumpkin Day is today, an October 31 holiday. If you don’t carve a pumpkin by today, when will you get to it?
This is your last chance to carve a pumpkin because Halloween is tonight. You’d better hurry. Pull out your carving patterns and get down to work. If you can’t find the patterns you have left over from last year, there’s no time to go to the store. They’re probably sold out, anyway. Just carve a pumpkin freehand. After it’s done, get your costume on and go trick or treating.
We believe this holiday is celebrated a little late. It is better held a few days before Halloween, or the weekend before. On the weekend, there’s time to hold a pumpkin carving party out of it. (I’m all for excuses to have a party!) You can roast pumpkin seeds, drink hot apple cider mull, and enjoy carving out pumpkins. If you decide to celebrate this special day a little earlier than the 31st, I won’t tell………
Did you Know? A pumpkin is not a Jack O’Lantern until it is carved.
How to Celebrate Carve a Pumpkin Day
This is an easy one…
Carve your pumpkins. Do this before it gets dark and the Trick or Treaters some out to haunt your neighborhood in search of candy.
I never met a pumpkin I didn’t like.” – – Jack. O. Lantern

Just a Thought: Wouldn’t this day be better if celebrated on October 31st? That way you can spend more time trick or treating. As previously mentioned, we won’t tell if you celebrate this day a few days early.

When is Canadian Thanksgiving Day? This Canadian holiday is held on the second Monday in October
Thanksgiving Day in Canada is one of the biggest Canadian holidays. It has some similarities to Thanksgiving in the U.S. But, it is also different in many ways. The Canadian Thanksgiving Day is based around a bountiful harvest. It occurs near the end of the harvest season in mid-October. There is no tie-in between the Pilgrims and Indians.
On Thanksgiving, Canadians give thanks for the successful harvest and have a huge feast. Turkeys are a very popular choice for the meal. Ham and other meats are also common choices. The feast is almost certain to have a dish or two that includes Canadian bacon. Because it is tied to the fall harvest, fall fruits and vegetables are included with the meal and on dessert trays. Pumpkin and apple pies are traditional favorites. While maple syrup is harvested and late winter, there is certainly something at the dessert table made with it. The day itself is a time for reflection. It also often includes games and activities with family and friends. Because it is held in October after dinner family walks or hikes to enjoy the Fall foliage are popular.
After the feast and festivities, people often settle down in front of the television to watch a CFL football game.
Canada's Black Friday
There are many Canadian holidays that are similar to those in the United States. Like The United States, the Friday after Thanksgiving in Canada is Black Friday. This is the day that Christmas shopping begins in earnest. That means Canadians have several extra weeks to find perfect Christmas gifts for family and friends, and at the very best sale prices. Meanwhile, in the United States, Black Friday does not arrive for another month. But, nowadays, holiday shopping begins shortly after Halloween, if not sooner.

History and Origin of Canadian Thanksgiving Day
Thanksgiving in Canada was first celebrated nationally in 1879. It was originally combined with Armistice Day. Then, in 1957, the Governor General of Canada issued a proclamation declaring Thanksgiving Day the second Monday in October.

When is Black Cat Day? This holiday is always observed on October 27
It’s four days before Halloween. As this spooky holiday arrives, everything is eerie, scary and evil. Black cats are very much an ominous symbol of the Halloween holiday. Therefore, it is only fitting we celebrate Black Cat Day today, an October 27 holiday. These cats are a dark, evil symbol of Halloween. Witches and demons are known to be able to transform into a black cat and back again whenevre they desire. As Halloween nears, those witches and demons begin to increasingly appear, temporarily transforming at will into a cat, as needed to escape or get near a human victim. Despite all these ominous superstitions, many people believe these cats have the power to foresee prosperity, fortune, and luck
Did You Know? Black cats are the least adopted pet can in the United States. I guess their reputation precedes them.
Are black cats good …. or evil? The answer to this question depends upon where you live. In Celtic folklore, it was believed the cats turned into fairies and back. Upon arrival to the New World, Pilgrims put a twist on this belief. They believe these cats are evil and foreboding. They also believed it was a witch or a demon. Never let a black cat cross your path. It will bring bad luck. In Europe, they were once burned alive. People caught harboring one, were severely punished. In Egypt, Great Britain, and Japan, people have just the opposite opinion of black cats. People there, see them as bringing good luck and a good omen.
Famous Black Cat: Thackery Binx in the movie Hocus Pocus (1993).
Black Cat Superstitions - Good and Bad
Don’t let a black cat cross your path. without a doubt, it will bring bad luck.
It is equally important to realize that lack cats are witches in disguise. Moreover, they can turn back and forth at will.
One white hair on a black cat and it will bring you good luck.
They protect fishermen at sea.
A cat in an empty cradle of newlyweds, and a baby will arrive soon.
At Halloween, these cats turn into witches and demons.
Ways to Celebrate Black Cat Day
This is a great day for cat lovers. Here are some ways to celebrate this holiday:
First, determine whether you believe black cats are good or evil.
Never let a black cat cross your path. Even if you think they are good, why chance it!?
Next, buy a black cat as a pet. If you do, then is it clear that you believe they are good luck for you.
Dress up your cat for this occasion. It’s the perfect time to decorate them in a Halloween costume.
“In ancient times, cats were worshipped as gods. Cats have not forgotten this.” Author Anon
History and Origin of Black Cat Day
This holiday has been around for quite some time. It goes back well before the year 2,000. Unfortunately, our research was unable to identify when it first began. But, we also have yet to identify who created it, although the “why” seems apparent being so near to Halloween.
An increasing number of internet sites are calling this “National” Black Cat Day. We are not sure why this “National” tag is sometimes erroneously being added to special holidays lately, as there is no early, or even recent, reference to this being a national day.
Despite our extensive research, we did not find a congressional or presidential proclamation making this day a true national day.

When is : Bald and Free Day? This holiday is always observed on October 7
Guys, this is your day to soar free like an eagle. Today is Bald and Free Day. This October 7 holiday honors those of us with a beautiful, shiny top. You don’t have to be bald to celebrate this day. But, it helps. People who are married to or related to a bald person can celebrate with the honoree.
Enough with the bald jokes. There will be zero tolerance for them today. Rather, today is a day to cherish and appreciate the freedom that comes with being bald. While the rest of us are spending money on haircuts, hair shampoo, hair sprays, combs, and such, the bald guy is smiling as he saves money and time.
Upon becoming a lucky bald guy, you are finally freed of the worry and fret that other guys have, as they wonder for years:
“Will I lose my hair?”
Is my hair turning grey?
Better still, bald guys are much happier. In addition to saving money on haircuts and hair accessories, they never had a “bad hair day”. One thing is for certain, bald guys will never let the ladies run their fingers through their hair. But, they will let you rub the top of their head.
So, if you are bald, enjoy your freedom, as you celebrate Bald and Free Day.
How to Celebrate Bald and Free Day
