This peanut butter cookie recipe is very popular for kids and teens. We found Granma and Grandpa like them, too, along with every age group in between. Some people call them “Peanut Butter Sandies”. When you make a batch of these cookies, they go very fast.

Peanut Butter Cookies Ingredients
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup shortening
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
How to Make Peanut Butter Cookies
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Beat shortening, peanut butter, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl until creamy.
Gradually add sugars, beating well after each addition.
Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl.
Slowly add dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture in the first bowl, mixing well.
Shape dough into 1″ diameter balls.
Place cookie balls on an ungreased cookie sheet, spacing about 2″ apart.
Criss-cross cookie with a fork, if desired.
Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
