Have a Bad Day Day

Smiley Face. When is Curious Event Day? National Do Something Nice Day. World Smile Day. Have a Bad Day. Hello. I want you to be happy.

When is Have a Bad Day Day? This holiday is always observed on November 19

When is Have a Bad Day Day, you ask!? It’s today. Isn’t this November 19 holiday just wonderful!? Years ago, as we began to research this day, we expected to find that this day was intended to recognize that everybody has a lousy day once in a while. Au Contrare!!!! Rather, as a greeting today, you are encouraging people to wish someone a lousy or terrible day. Then, watch the surprised look on their face.

Believe it or not, this day was created to encourage us to wish people to have a bad day. The intent is to have salespeople stop saying to their customers “have a good day” and replace it with “have a bad day”. Hopefully, they will do s with a smile on their face. I’m sure that will go a long way towards getting the sale.

At this point, we must remind you that we do not create special days or their meaning. We only report to you those that exist. And, this is truly the meaning and intent of this day, as stated by the creator.

How to Celebrate Have a Bad Day Day

If you are going to participate in this day, then you should anticipate poor reactions from the people you greet. Accordingly, be prepared to clue them in that this is just a joke inspired by the subject of this holiday.  Accordingly, you might opt not to participate. We will leave this decision up to you.

  • Greet people with “Have a Bad Day!”, instead of a more positive greeting. We suggest you do so with a smile.
  • Act counter to the title of this day and try your best to have a good day.

Gunpowder Day or Guy Fawkes Day

Canon. When is Gunpowder Day/ Guy Fawkes Conspiracy. November 5 holidays

When is Gunpowder Day? This holiday is always observed on November 5

Guy Fawkes Day and Gunpowder Day are one and the same. This November 5 holiday commemorates the infamous Gunpowder Conspiracy of 1605 in England. It was led by, you guessed it, Guy Fawkes.

Thought for the Day: Are we celebrating Guy Fawkes and his co-conspirators, for attempting to eliminate religious persecution? Or, are we celebrating the government’s successful discovery of the plot, saving many lives?  …You make the call.

The Roots of Gunpowder Day or Guy Fawkes Day

In 1603, King James I took the throne in England. An avid Protestant, he began persecuting Catholics in the country. Because of his religious beliefs, he forbid Catholics from practicing their religion, and punished Catholics who did not convert to the Protestant church.

The Gunpowder Conspirators were a group of Catholics who sought to take action against the king. Thus, they plotted to blow up the British Houses of Parliament. They planned to do so when the king and his supporters were in the buildings. Their plot was uncovered on November 5, 1605. Thirty-six barrels of gunpowder were found in the basement of Parliament. Guy Fawkes, the leader of the conspiracy, was arrested and tortured until he confessed. He was arrested just as he was about to ignite the gunpowder.

How to Celebrate Gunpowder Day

How do people in England celebrate Gunpowder Day and the Gunpowder Conspiracy? Here’s how:

First, celebrate with fireworks and bonfires. You can do so, too.

Then, use this day to learn more about Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder Conspiracy.

Today's Quote

History and Origin of Gunpowder Day

We know the origin of the cause for this special day. However, we do not know when this special day began to be celebrated. It likely began in the 1600s.

Note: This special day lends proof to the theory that notoriety results in recognition.

The goal of this special day is quite obvious: to get people to quit smoking, resulting in fewer health problems, and fewer cancer and emphysema deaths resulting from smoking and secondary smoke.

Quitting smoking is not an easy task. As an ex-smoker, this writer certainly knows how hard it is to quit smoking. Usually, it takes repeated efforts to succeed. That’s okay, as long as you keep trying until you finally succeed. The health benefits and the prospect of a longer life are crystal clear.

The American Cancer Society emphatically encourages all smokers to give up the “butt” today. Join millions of other Americans today and take a big step to a happier, healthier, longer life.

False Confession Day is today, a November 21 holiday. I bet you have been waiting for today, in eager anticipation.
