The Resurrection of Jesus Christ

Rejoice, for He has Arisen!
The Resurrection of Jesus Christ is the holiest Christain event. Christ died for us, and then he rose from the dead on Easter Sunday morning. It offers us the hope of eternal life in Heaven. The Christian season of Lent is over, and we rejoice.
For the first few decades of Christianity, Lent did not exist. In 325 A.D., the Council of Nicea established the season of Lent. They created a40 day period of fasting in advance of Easter. So, today, the Easter season begins with the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday.
The Easter Bunny, colored eggs, jellybeans, and lots of chocolate candies are a fun part of Easter. But it is a very distant second to the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Easter is a time to spend with your family while celebrating both the resurrection of Christ, and the Easter Bunny.
