About Everything You Think is Wrong Day

When is Everything You Think is Wrong Day? This holiday is always celebrated on March 15

Everything You Think is Wrong Day is a day when nothing goes right. on this Arch 15 holiday, it’s not just in your thinking, that things are going wrong. Things are indeed going wrong, literally. Everything you see or hear appears to be all wrong. How frustrating! Have you ever had a day like that…… a day when nothing was going right? Yeah, me too!  Well, today is a special day in recognition that everyone has a bad day once in a while. It can even happen to you. We just hope you don’t think it happens all the time.

Remember the old saying “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today”?  Well, ignore it! Today is a day for indecision and procrastination. That’s because everything you think is wrong today, making it impossible to do the right things.

If you’re thinking everything is wrong today, just wait 24 hours. Tomorrow everything will be just right! All those things that go wrong today, will magically correct themselves at the stroke of midnight. Everything is uphill from here. Tomorrow is Everything You Do is Right Day

How to Celebrate Everything You Think is Wrong Day

Indecision and procrastination are the keywords for today.

  • Do just the opposite of what you are thinking of doing.
  • Avoid making decisions.
  • Don’t come to conclusions on anything you’ve been comp templating.
  • Do not ask “Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” You won’t like the answer.
  • Avoid making career decisions.

About Employee Appreciation Day

When is Employee Appreciation Day? This holiday is celebrated on the first Friday in March

If the boss can get a Bosses Day, then it’s only fair and appropriate that you, the employee, get a day in your honor. Employee Appreciation Day was created in March to honor all employees everywhere.

On this day, companies, businesses, and organizations across the country organize celebrations to recognize the hard and smart work of their employees. Recognitions vary widely and may include lunch, snacks, cakes, other munchies, and small recognition gifts. Don’t expect a day off. Chances are, it just won’t happen.

As we researched this day, we wondered if it was a coincidence that Employee’s Day and Bosses Day are six months apart…..hmmmmmm.

How to Celebrate Employee Appreciation Day

  • Employers: Pull a little money out of the Employee Recognition account. Then, bring in donuts or bagels. Or, take them all to lunch.
  • Employees: This is your day to enjoy. Don’t take the day off, or you will miss it.

Today's Chuckle

“My doctor told me I only have six months to live. When I told him I couldn’t pay the bill, he gave me six months more.” – – Walter Matthau

History and Origin of Employee Appreciation Day

According to David Nuualiitia Employee Appreciation Day first arrived on calendars in 1995. One of Recognition Professionals International’s founding Board members, Bob Nelson, together with his publishing company, Workman Publishing, created Employee Appreciation Day as a way of focusing the attention of all employers, in all industries on employee recognition.”

There are a lot of local and company-specific celebrations for Employee Day and week. They are spread across the year.

About Earmuff Day

When is Earmuff Day? This holiday is always celebrated on March 13

Earmuff Day is today. This March 13 holiday celebrates a warm invention…the earmuff! People in cold climates can really appreciate this day. And they are ever so thankful to the person who created them. If you live in Florida, you might not even know what an earmuff is.

Earmuffs keep your ears warm and protect you from ear infections and earaches resulting from icy cold wind and weather. Manufacturers have responded to their popularity with a variety of designs and colors, making one fit almost anyone’s personality.

How to Celebrate Earmuff Day

It is really easy to celebrate Earmuff Day…. just wear your earmuffs today!

You can also use your earmuffs to reduce loud noises. Your ears will thank you.

Today's Quote

“Before you can make a dream come true, you must first have one.” – – Ronald McNair

History and Origin of Earmuff Day

Big-eared Chester Greenwood is the father of the Earmuff. Greenwood patented the “Champion Ear Protector” on March 13, 1877. It later became known as “ear mufflers”, and was eventually shortened to “earmuffs”. While easily recognize why this date was selected, our research has not yet uncovered who created this special holiday. Perhaps, it was a descendant of Chester Greenwood!?

We recognize that this date was selected to celebrate the date they were invented. But, wouldn’t it be more logical to celebrate Earmuff Day in January or February, during the coldest days of the winter!?

Dumbstruck Day

About Dumbstruck Day

When is Dumbstruck Day? This holiday is always celebrated on March 15

The arrival of Dumbstruck Day leaves us dumbfounded. It’s no surprise that more and more people are dumbstruck on an increasingly frequent basis. The volumes of fake, false, and erroneous information being printed in the media, and especially in social media, makes it all but impossible to sort out the truth from the lies. Therefore, we all have the right to be hopelessly dumbstruck. And this March 15 holiday is the perfect time to feel this way.

Dumbstruck Day is a day to be totally dumbstruck and stupefied over the things you see, hear and read. You may easily be dumbstruck to read that someone created this special day. Some people are dumbstruck on a regular basis, day in and day out. The events in their lives and the world around them are overwhelming. Fortunately, that’s not you, at least we hope not.

However, everyone has the right to be dumbstruck once in a while. If you are normally embarrassed to be dumbstruck, then today is truly a special day. Today, you can be dumbstruck like the rest of us without guilt or embarrassment.

If you are dumbfounded and thunderstruck about the very existence of Dumbstruck Day, there are even more inane holidays to celebrate. I bet you can’t wait until National Ampersand Day arrives. And, you just missed Be Nasty Day, celebrated a few days ago.

How to Celebrate Dumbstruck Day

  • Think about all of the news and information that is making you dumbstruck. Then, take action to eliminate or disregard them.
  • If something finds you dumbfounded today, just go with the flow.
  • Don’t add to the confusion. Make extra certain that whatever you say or do today, does not cause someone else to be dumbstruck.

Thought for Today

If I had to rate the solar system, I’d give it one star.

History and Origin of Dumbstruck Day

We researched this special holiday in the early 2000s, and again in the early 2020s. We did not find the creator of this day, nor the reason it was created. Frankly, we are totally stupefied and thunderstruck that no one has stepped forward and claimed to be the creator of this day.

About National Doctors Day

When is National Doctors Day? This holiday is always observed on March 30

National Doctors Day was created to show appreciation to your medical doctors. Doctors perform vital diagnosis, treatment, and care for yourself and your family. When you are well, your doctor keeps you well. When you are sick, there is no other person more important to you than your doctor. So, on this March 30 holiday, express your appreciation to all of your doctors.

This day celebrates all medical doctors, from general physicians to specialists in every medical field. Surgeons are doctors, too. Don’t forget to express your appreciation to them, too.

How to Celebrate National Doctors Day

Hallmark Card Company suggests you send your doctors a card of appreciation. (it’s no surprise to hear this from Hallmark). Card companies have cards for this event….no surprise here, either!

We suggest you simply tell your doctor(s) that you appreciate all that they do for you and your health. If you don’t see your doctor today, make a note to thank him (or her) at your next appointment.

Most doctors have email addresses to communicate with their patients. Therefore, we suggest you can send them an Ecard.

About Dentists Day

When is Dentists Day? This holiday is always observed on March 6

Open your mouth and say “Aaaah”.. Dentist’s Day has arrived. This March 6 holiday is a great day to display a big, toothy grin. Your Dentist plays a role in that big, bright smile. He’s an important person in keeping your smile bright, and your teeth and mouth healthy. Therefore, it is only fitting that we have a day to celebrate this very special person in your life.

Celebrating our dentist is one thing. Going to see the dentist, is another thing entirely. If your Dentist is such an important person, then why are we so scared of the next dental visit? Is it perhaps the fear of discovering a cavity? Maybe, he will find the beginnings of gum disease?  The fear of the dentist ranks right up there with…. the fear of pulling teeth!

The Keys to Healthy Teeth and Gums

It’s no secret. Your dentist will tell you the keys to a healthy smile. They are:

  • Visit your dentist every six months for a check-up and dental cleaning.
  • Brush your teeth after every meal.
  • Use dental floss.
  • Use mouthwash.
  • Avoid too many sweets.

If you do all these things routinely, then give us a big, bright smile!

How to Celebrate Dentists Day

Among the ways to celebrate today are:

  • Give your dentist a big “TY”.
  • Send your dentist an Ecard or stationary card.
  • Make a dental appointment (if you haven’t been there in a while).
  • Start using dental floss daily.
  • Improving your daily dental care routine. Don’t forget the mouthwash.
  • Show off your great smile.

About Credit Card Reduction Day

When is Credit Card Reduction Day? This holiday is always observed on March 21

Today is Credit Card Reduction Day. The goal of this March 21 holiday is simple, take action today to reduce your credit card debt. While you’re at it, make and implement a plan to reduce and eliminate all other loans and debts. This debt comes with huge interest rates. It’s money we pay to the bank that reduces our ability to spend it on other things we need and enjoy.

Take a look at the interest payment on your monthly statement. It’s H-U-G-E. Credit card debt can have a crushing and devastating effect on our lives. It keeps us from buying the house of our dreams, or a new car. It restricts our ability to make other purchases. And, it adds stress to our lives. I don’t know about you, but I could use a little less stress in my life.  Credit card debt comes with high, usurious interest rates. As credit card balances go up, so do the minimum payments, which can put a real crimp on our limited discretionary spending.

Did you Know? If you only pay the minimum amount due each month, it will seemingly take forever to pay off the balance. That’s exactly what credit card companies are hoping you do.

So, increase your personal wealth, and improve your quality of life. Today is the day to begin doing something about reducing your credit card debt. You don’t need to pay off the balance today. Rather, today is a great day to begin whittling away at the balance.

Your Ultimate Goal: Zero credit card balance at thened of each month.

By participating in this day, you are on your way to financial freedom!

How to Celebrate Credit Card Reduction Day

Here are some ways to “celebrate” this very special day, so you can eventually liberate yourself from the claws of credit card companies:

  1. First, make an extra payment on your credit card balance.

  2. Implement a plan to pay off just a few dollars more each month

  3. Limit new purchases, until your credit card balance is paid in full.

  4. Double down….. Add the money you didn’t spend on #3 above to your next credit card payment. You will have a zero balance even sooner!

  5. Reduce the number of credit cards you have.

  6. Once you have paid off the balance, Pay the full amount due every month…no exceptions.

Today's Quote

“Blessed are the young, for they shall inherit the National Debt.” – – Herbert Hoover

History and Origin of Credit Card Reduction Day

Holiday Insights created this day in 2016. We feel that credit card debt takes a tremendous toll on the lives of Americans. It causes so many problems. By freeing ourselves of credit card debt, and extremely high-interest rates, we will be able to do so much more, and our lives will be much happier.

National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day

Corned Beef and Cabbage Day

When is National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day? This holiday is always celebrated on March 17

If it is Saint Patrick’s Day, then it must certainly also be National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day. This is no coincidence. Here in America, you can’t have one without the other. So today, let’s celebrate both of these March 17 holidays.

It may surprise you to learn that Corned Beef and Cabbage is as American as Apple pie. A traditional recipe in Ireland was salt pork or a bacon joint with cabbage and/or potatoes. Irish stew and shepherd’s pie are more traditional meals in Ireland. Beef is not popular in cooking in Ireland. as the ancient Celtic culture considered cows sacred. Cows were most often used as work animals on farms. In the mid-1800s, Irish immigrants to America found their Jewish neighbors had corned beef, which was similar in taste, but much cheaper. So, the American version of this easy-to-make Irish dish became Corned Beef and Cabbage.

Recognizing that Corned Beef and Cabbage actually originated in America, you may wonder if you can truly call it “Irish”? Well, of course, it is! Irish people created it. They just happened to be immigrants to the U.S.

It is usually made from brisket or round roast, cured in seasoned brine. Corned beef and cabbage recipes are easy to make. It includes corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, and carrots, slowly stewed in water. Find a recipe

You can add a variety of other herbs and spices. Feel free to experiment.

We hope you enjoy your dinner tonight… It’s corned beef and cabbage.

Irish Saying:  When Irish eyes are smiling…. they are probably up to something.

How to Celebrate National Corned Beef and Cabbage Day

  • Begin the day with a “wearing of the green”. Enjoy a great meal of corned beef and cabbage.
  • Have a big second helping.
  • Celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day to the max.

Did You Know? There is no corn in corned beef. The term refers to the large grains of salt used to sure the meat.
