Today is definitely not a day for “Debbie Downers”. Rather, today is a real laugher. Honest to goodness it’s Let’s Laugh Day and that’s funny. This March 19 holiday is no joke, but it’s certainly a big laugher that’s guaranteed to tickle your innards.    

There are all sorts of laughs. Start with a little tehee while reading the comics in the morning paper. When you pick up your cell phone and go on the internet, look for the jokes and humor on your favorite social media site for a few LOLs. Then, move on to the chuckles, hahas, hohos, giggles, hearty roars, and those deep and resonating belly laughs.

It’s perfectly okay to laugh while no one is around. There’s nothing wrong with that. However, laughter is best enjoyed with others. We suggest you collect an assortment of humorous jokes and share them with everyone you meet. It’s a great way to brighten your day and that those you come in contact with. If you’re not out and about today, make a few phone calls or texts to spread the laughter.

Don’t you wonder what the purpose and goals of this day are? National Joe Day is a chance to change your name, if only for today. Or on this March 27 holiday, you can celebrate people named “Joe”. The creator of this special holiday did not leave us with any real definition of the reason for this day. So, let’s expand on the purpose of this day. Let’s celebrate today with a “cup of joe”.

Many people do not like their given name. They wish they could change it. A few actually do. On National Joe Day, it is perfectly okay to have everyone call you “Joe”. Why Joe, and not Bob or Mike or Radcliffe? Simply, because everyone likes the name, Joe. If you are called Joe today, we know that you’re “Joe cool”!

Yessiree! Today is a jewel of a day to receive jewelry. While most people think this is a day for the ladies, guys receive jewelry, too. It does not need to be expensive or elaborate. Just a simple, inexpensive piece of jewelry will be in good keeping with this special day.

Jewelry can be as simple as a gold or silver bracelet worn on the neck, wrist, or ankle. Gemstones of all kinds are often added to them. The most popular of course, are diamonds. The British Crown Jewels are the most elaborate. They comprise over 100 jewelry items and an amazing 23, 000 gemstones.

Don’t worry, be happy because today is International Day of Happiness. According to the UN, “Today is a day to be happy, of course!” The UN created and celebrates this March 20 holiday annually and forever, as a way to “recognize the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world”. Every year the UN issues a theme for this day. According to the UN’s website page for this holiday, “The pursuit of happiness is a fundamental human goal”. Being with family, friends, colleagues, and humanity, in general, impacts our happiness. Happiness is very much connected with being together.  

Celebrate today by being together with family, friends, and loved ones. If you can’t be together physically, take the time to make a phone call, Zoom, or Skype. We are certain the more people you connect with today, the happier you will be.

The International Day of Awesomeness is a holiday you’re not going to want to miss. No doubt about it. This March 10 holiday is an absolutely amazing day! As we move towards spring, the weather is turning awesome. We feel awesome. And, we hope that you’re feeling awesome, too.

It’s no coincidence that March 10 was selected to celebrate awesomeness. Chuck Norris was born on this day. Norris is considered the quintessence of awesomeness. 

This day is a celebration of awesomeness. Take some time today, to identify things in your life that are amazing. Strive to make common things in your life awesome, or do things that are awesome. Are you in a relationship? Is it amazing? If not, it should be. Take steps to make that relationship as fantastic as it can be. This will make you awesome! You get the picture. C’mon, you can do it. As for me, I’m gonna spend some time doing some amazing things. Perhaps I’ll go rock climbing, ride a zip line, or maybe even hang glide. Now that will make me truly awesome!    

OMG! this whole day is turning out to be a disaster. What should you do? Try to stay calm. Take a deep breath. For today is Panic Day, a March 9 holiday. Can you handle today? Good, we were worried about you for a moment.

Hopefully, everything is going just swell in your life, and you have no need for this day. But, sometimes our best efforts turn a project into a mess, or an issue gets blown up way out of proportion.  If problems and troubles are looming, try to hold off hitting the panic button until this day arrives. Then if you must, let all your problems overwhelm you today.

Today is Absolutely Incredible Kids Day®. Are your kids indredible and wonderful!? Sure, they are! Use this special holiday to let your kids know just how wonderful they are. And, today is an opportunity for you to brag about them, too.

Sure, your kids may be pretty good. But, my kid is absolutely incredible! As a matter of fact, all of my kids are absolutely incredible. As a parent, I am going to take full advantage of being the author of this page to exercise my bragging rights and to let you know that my kids are absolutely incredible. I sure hope they are reading this, and that their heads do not get too big to get through our door. (Wow! That felt pretty good.)

If the paragraph above doesn’t give you a good impression of the meaning and purpose of this day, then you probably don’t have kids…yet. When those offspring do arrive, you will most certainly use this special day to profess how incredible your kids are. Amazingly, tomorrow they go back to being brats.

Did you Know? “Kids” are baby goats. Does that mean this day is really about incredible goats!? …….Nah!

I am in Control Day is today, a March 30 holiday. On March 30, 1981, President Ronald Reagan was wounded in an assassination attempt. The vice president was not in Washington at the time. Lots of confusion prevailed.  Many did not even know the order of succession to lead our great nation. In the White House, then Secretary of State Alexander Haig was taken a little out of context when he said “I am in control here”. Instead of focusing on the entire statement, people and the press focused on these few words.  Political uproar eventually led to his resignation. 

Being in control of something is very often about leadership. On that historical day, the roots of I Am in Control Day was born. Alexander Haig’s statement was intended to calm a nation under distress and uncertainty after its leader was injured and unable to control the reins of the country. History sometimes fades with time. Today, Alexander Haig’s statement is all but forgotten.

Meanwhile, this special day continues to exist and evolve. In the case of I am in Control Day, it is good that this holiday thrives and evolves. People now think about this day in a different, more context. They personalize it into a day to get their life under control. In that sense, today is definitely a call to action. So, this holiday is your chance to get things in order and under control. It can become one of your favorite March 30 holidays.

Most likely, the first step is to take a deep breath and relax. Now, assess the situation, and………. get things under control. Once you have accomplished this today, you can work on staying in control every day. 

Today is a day that we all can embrace. It’s “Hug a GI Day”. On this March 4 holiday, give a great big hug and show of support to any and all GIs you see today. This includes both active and retired army military personnel. The men and women in our armed forces deserve our thanks and appreciation.

GIs perform an invaluable service to our country. They risk their lives for our freedom, and to keep us safe. A simple hug is a small thanks for this vital service to our country.

Do you know what “GI” stands for? We’ve used this abbreviation for so long, many people no longer know. GI is short for “Ground Infantry” of the United States Army. 

May we suggest? While the intention of this day is directed at GIs, there is nothing wrong with giving a hug and a thank you to members of all other branches of the military on this day.

Religion is a very personal thing. It is the relationship you have with your God. You can be varying degrees of religious, spiritual, or both. Holy Experiment Day is a day to try something religious. This March 4 holiday is a chance to try something, or ask for something, and to see the results.

In our examples above, God may grant all, some, or none of the desired results. He may be too busy with the problems of the world to make it snow. He definitely doesn’t have a favorite sports team. The Lord truly works in mysterious ways. Sometimes, he has his own plans for an outcome that we may not understand. And, God just might have something better for you.

We don’t want to discourage holy experiments. Quite the opposite, we think they are good. We just believe you shouldn’t judge the results. Your religious beliefs will be strengthen and you bring you closer to God. So, participate in Holy Experiment Day to its fullest.
