Laugh heartily every day and many times a day. They say “Laughter is the best medicine”. There is plenty of truth to this statement. Medical studies have shown that laughter lowers the level of the stress hormone cortisol in your body, which reduces stress. Laughter lowers blood pressure, increases the immune system, and increases your heart rate. It lightens your mood and makes you happier. Laughter is also proven to help you sleep. It takes energy to laugh, burning calories. These should be enough reasons to cause you to laugh as often as you possibly can.

History and Origin of Let's Laugh Day
Our research did not find the creator or the origin of this day or any other information about its origin. It appears to have been created in 2017 or possibly a year or two earlier.
This holiday clearly began as Let’s Laugh Day. Somewhere around 2019 or so, a few websites began to incorrectly call it National Let’s Laugh Day. We found no documentation in congressional records to confirm that this is truly a national day. Nor, did we find a presidential proclamation.

History and Origin of International Day of Awesomeness
Kevin Lawver, a web application developer, and a bunch of his co-workers conceived this special day. Fred Maneiro, an intern at Lawver’s company suggested that there should be a celebration for awesomeness. Lawver picked up on the idea, created the details around it, coined the day as National Day of Awesomeness, and promoted it on Twitter. The day quickly became global, and the name was appropriately changed to International Day of Awesomeness. Other co-workers, most notably Dan Lurie, also contributed to the development of this holiday.
The original slogan for the day “Because everyone needs an excuse to be awesome”, was created by Dan Lurie. Kevin Lawver’s daughter later came up with the slogan “No one’s perfect, but everyone can be awesome.”

When is I am in Control Day? This holiday is always celebrated on March 30
I am in Control Day is today, a March 30 holiday. On March 30, 1981, President Ronald Reagan was wounded in an assassination attempt. The vice president was not in Washington at the time. Lots of confusion prevailed. Many did not even know the order of succession to lead our great nation. In the White House, then Secretary of State Alexander Haig was taken a little out of context when he said “I am in control here”. Instead of focusing on the entire statement, people and the press focused on these few words. Political uproar eventually led to his resignation.
Being in control of something is very often about leadership. On that historical day, the roots of I Am in Control Day was born. Alexander Haig’s statement was intended to calm a nation under distress and uncertainty after its leader was injured and unable to control the reins of the country. History sometimes fades with time. Today, Alexander Haig’s statement is all but forgotten.
Meanwhile, this special day continues to exist and evolve. In the case of I am in Control Day, it is good that this holiday thrives and evolves. People now think about this day in a different, more context. They personalize it into a day to get their life under control. In that sense, today is definitely a call to action. So, this holiday is your chance to get things in order and under control. It can become one of your favorite March 30 holidays.
Most likely, the first step is to take a deep breath and relax. Now, assess the situation, and………. get things under control. Once you have accomplished this today, you can work on staying in control every day.
