Sugar Cookies Ingredients
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar

How to Make Sugar Cookies Directions
Preheat oven to 375° F.
Cream butter, powdered sugar, and granulated sugar.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
Slowly mix in flour cream of tartar ad baking soda.
Mix together until the dough forms a ball.
Make 1-inch dough balls and place them two inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Dip a clean glass into a small bowl of sugar and flatten cookies to about 1 1/2 inches in diameter.
Decorate with colored decorating sugar.
Bake for 7-9 minutes until edges are lightly browned.
