Hollandaise Sauce Ingredients

4 egg yolks

1/2 cup butter

2 to 3 teaspoons of lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Hollandaise Sauce Directions

  1. Put some water in the bottom of a double boiler.

  2. Put egg yolks and 1/3 of the butter in the top of a double boiler.

  3. Cook over boiling water until the butter melts, while stirring rapidly.

  4. Add 1/3 of the butter and continue to cook and stir until the butter melts.

  5. Add the last 1/3 of the butter.

  6. Cook and stir until it thickens.

  7. Stir in lemon juice.

  8. Cook another 2 to 3 minutes.

  9. Remove from heat.
