This chocolate brownie recipe has been handed down in our family from generation to generation. There must have been a “Susan” in our family, leading to this recipe’s name. It’s one of our family’s favorites. And we’re certain it will become one of your favorites, too.

Chocolate Brownies Ingredients
3/4 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon salt (use less if you want)
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 squares melted chocolate
How to Make Chocolate Brownies Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a large bowl, mix in shortening and sugar until light.
