About Repeat Day

When is Repeat Day? This holiday is always observed on June 3

Repeat Day is today. This June 3 holiday is an opportunity to say and do things over and over again. Repeat Day is an opportunity to do things over and over again. (hee, hee) We encourage you to repeat the fun things. But, it’s okay to skip repeating unpleasant things.

You can hear this day echo in a canyon and down a hallway. It’s a day where you repeatedly perform a task or play a game over and over again. While playing a game a second or third time sounds like a lot of fun, I sure hope I don’t have to do the dishes or any other job over again today or any day.

Hopefully, you will choose to repeat things you enjoy doing. Pick a wide array of foods, snacks, and activities, and repeat them today. As a matter of fact, it’s perfectly okay to repeat them over and over again today. It’s also perfectly okay to avoid doing things you don’t like. It’s a certainty that you will not enjoy distasteful things the second time around.

Today’s Feature Movie: Groundhog Day. In the movie, February 2 was repeated over and over several times.

How to Celebrate Repeat Day

  • Repeat things say today. Repeat things say today. (teehee)
  • Do a double-take when you look at things.
  • Repeat things you do today. For example, enjoy an ice cream cone. Then, enjoy a second one!
  • Yodel in a canyon and listen for an echo. If you do not near a canyon, sometimes hallways will produce an echo.
  • Think twice before making a decision or doing something.

Exceptions:

  • You don’t have to repeat mistakes today.
  • Don’t repeat unpleasant tasks.
  • Don’t go to work twice.

Thought for Today

“Those who do not remember the past, are condemned to repeat it.”

History and Origin of Repeat Day

We discovered no substantial information about the origin of Repeat Day. We can only speculate that it was created by someone who enjoyed doing something and then thought “Hey, I’d like to do that again!”

In recent years some internet websites have added the word “National” to the title. Our original research in the early 2000s found no such reference. We did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day.

Definition of “National” Days – and why it is important to distinguish true National days.
