It’s Cherry Pie Day, a February 20 holiday Cherry pie is America’s second most popular pie, behind only apple pie in popularity. However, in February, it’s Number 1. Like other food holidays, you participate in this day by eating a slice or two.
As a young boy, future president George Washington made the Cherry tree famous, with his now familiar quote “I cannot tell a lie, I chopped down the Cherry tree.” We celebrate George Washington’s Birthday and President’s Day in February. Appropriately, it’s traditional to bake cherry pies to honor of the occasion.
Being the “hot pie” of the month, it is only fitting that Cherry Pie Day falls in February.
How to Celebrate Cherry Pie Day
Bake a cherry pie.
If you do not have time to bake one yourself, buy one from the store.
