Public Sleeping Day
About Public Sleeping Day
When is Public Sleeping Day? This holiday is always celebrated on February 28
Are you thinking of taking a nap on a park bench? Public Sleeping Day is today, so go right ahead and close your eyes for a few minutes. This February 28 holiday is an opportunity for you to take a nap in public. We can think of a whole lot of places to sleep in the public eye. And today is the day to do it. People have been snoozing out in public since the dawn of time. However, this holiday has been around for just a few years. With all hours Americans work and their busy lives, being tired is an everyday occurrence. Some days you’re exhausted and just want to put the world on pause for a twenty-minute catnap. Go ahead because that’s what today is all about.
You can sleep on a park bench. You can doze on a blanket on the beach. Some people may opt to sleep on the job. They do so at their own risk. Have you ever caught twenty winks on a bus or subway traveling to or from work? Sure, we all have.
Wherever you choose to snooze during the day, we hope it is peaceful and restful.
How to Celebrate Public Sleeping Day
Are you tired and overworked? Perhaps you’re having trouble keeping your eyes open. If so, then look for any cozy spot where you can take a quick and reenergizing power nap. Here are some suggestions:
- Snooze on a park bench.
- Spread a blanket out on a park lawn. Have a picnic. Then, take a nap on the blanket.
- Are you sleepy? Wherever you are, sit or lay down and catch 40 winks.
- Take a nap at work. Be very careful that the boss doesn’t catch you.
- Sleep on a bus or subway. Before you do, set an alarm on your cell phone so you don’t miss your stop.
