This Banana Cream Pie recipe is one of my personal favorites. Grandma sure knew how to make a super banana cream pie. Here is her recipe. Enjoy this family heirloom recipe any time of the year.

Banana Cream Pie Ingredients
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk, scalded
1/2 cup butter
1 Tablespoon vanilla
5 bananas, ripe, but not over-ripe
1 pre-baked 9″ pie shell
whipped cream or whipped topping
How to Make Banana Cream Pie
In a saucepan, beat the eggs, 1/2 cup sugar, and flour together.
Gradually mix the scalded milk into the egg mixture.
Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes until thickened, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and stir in butter and vanilla, until well blended.
Cover the surface of the filling with plastic wrap and allow it to cool.
Slice bananas. Fold bananas into the filling.
Spoon filling into a pre-baked pie shell.
Top with whipped cream or whipped topping.
