National Sea Shell Day
Date When Celebrated : This holiday is always observed on June 21
Today is the first day of summer. It's time to hit the beach, soak up
some rays, and search for seashells. It makes perfect sense that today is
also National Sea Shell Day.
The History and Origin of National Sea Shell Day: National Sea Shell Day was created and is promoted by "The Beaches of St. Myers and Sanibel". This special day was created in 2016 and is now celebrated annually. There is no presidential proclamation, nor any documentation from the U.S. Congress, to support this as a true U.S. "National" day. The creators make no mention on their website, to any efforts to obtain official "National" status.
