National Shower with a Friend Day
About National Shower with a Friend Day
When is National Shower with a Friend Day? This holiday is always celebrated on February 5
Be a Conservationist….. save water. Today is National Shower with a Friend Day, a February 5 holiday. This February 5 holiday could be one of the more memorable holiday celebrations of the year.
In early February, it’s cold and snowy, with long hours of darkness. Winter is getting a little old, yet there are weeks to go before spring arrives. Life in February can be simply boring. Naturally, it’s a rather blah and depressing time. Then, National Shower with a Friend Day comes along, just in time to liven up an otherwise dreary day. As this holiday nears, just the thought of showering with a friend (or two!?) brings a smile to your face and makes you feel warm all over.
Who will you shower with this year? Will it be the same person(s) as last year, or someone entirely new? We make no suggestions, leaving this important decision up to you.
Technically, to participate in National Shower with a Friend Day, you have to take a shower. However, it is perfectly okay to take a bath with a friend today. You might even discover that taking a bath with a friend is even more fun than a shower. Young kids have more fun in the bathtub with their tub toys. And for adults, let’s just say it’s exhilarating.
How to Celebrate National Shower with a Friend Day
Let the fun begin. I’ve got a feeling this is going to be a truly memorable day.
- For young tykes, first select a friend. Then hop in the shower.
- For adults, that friend is likely a very special one. Just get the temperature set just right and hop right in. After an extended shower, you will come out cleaner than you’ve ever been.
- While the emphasis is on taking a shower. we won’t tell anyone if you take a bath with a friend. For even more fun, make it a bubble bath.

History and Origin of National Shower with a Friend Day
Rumors on the Internet suggest that this day was created as a marketing scheme to sell shower filters. There are references to the harmful effects of chlorine on your skin while showering. Oddly, we found no manufacturer or retail company making claims of creating this day, or any marketing program linked to this day.
This holiday appears to have been created around 2016. Like many other holidays created in this period, it is titled as a “National” day. We found no documentation in congressional records to confirm that this is truly a national day. Nor, did we find a presidential proclamation.
