History and Origin of Card Playing Day
Despite our extensive research efforts, we have not yet identified the creator of this holiday. Nor, do we know why it was created. We can only speculate that the creator was either a card shark or someone else who loves to play cards.
The earliest reference we found to this holiday is 200y. At the time, the original title of this holiday was Card Playing Day. Through to 2014, this was the title. Then, in 2015, a few internet websites began to refer to it as National Card Playing Day. Now, the vast majority of internet websites include “National” in the title. But, the alteration obviously was not at the approval of the creator, as he remains unidentified to this day. With this in mind, we choose to call it by its original name that the creator chose for this day.
