Good Friday Soup Recipe

While this old, old recipe includes the word soup, the only similarity is that it is served hot. Either way Lent is all but over. This meatless dish is perfect for serving on Good Friday.

Good Friday Soup Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs mixed fruits: apples, peaches, apricots, pears, etc.

  • 1/2 cup cherry halves

  • 1 pound seedless raisins

  • 1 Tablespoon flour

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1 egg.

How to make Good Friday Soup:

  1. Wash, core, and peel fruits.

  2. Cut into bite-sized pieces.

  3. Cook fruits until tender.

  4. Mix flour and milk together.

  5. Add flour and milk to the fruit while cooking.

  6. Remove from heat.

  7. Mix sugar and egg together, then add to fruit.

  8. Serve warm or hot.
