How to Make Chipped Beef Rye Boat Recipe

This Chipped Beef Rye Boat recipe is a favorite classic party dip for any holiday party. Don’t forget it for the big game, too!

In a hurry? You can buy rye dip in most grocery stores. Then, just cut up some chipped beef and mix it into the rye dip. You can also skip the rye loaf and use sliced rye bread cut into small, bite-sized pieces.

Beef Rye Boat Ingredients

2 packages of dry beef

1 1/2 cups mayonnaise

1 1/2 cups sour cream

1 tablespoon chopped or minced onion

1 teaspoon beau monde seasoning

1 teaspoon dill weed

2 loaves of round rye bread

How to Make Chipped Beef Rye Boat Directons

  1. Shred or chop dry beef and put it in a bowl.

  2. Add all ingredients (except bread) into the bowl. Mix together well.

  3. Place the dip in the refrigerator to chill.

  4. Cut the top off of one of the rye breads.

  5. Hollow out the center of the loaf.

  6. Cut into cubes the top and hollowed out the center section of rye bread.

  7. Cut the second rye loaf into cubes.

  8. Pour the dip into the hollowed-out loaf.

  9. Place the boat onto a platter and serve. 

Note: To make a smaller quantity, cut all portions by 1/2. You can also serve the dip in a bowl and use just one loaf of rye.
